The CDC web site reports outbreaks of viral hepatitis among Diabetics in long-term care; these outbreaks are attributed to breaks in infection control practices, namely the sharing or improper disinfection of glucose monitoring devices. These are nursing performance issues.

In California, the 2010-2011 Influenza Vaccine is already available through many pharmacies; private health care providers may not have received their supplies yet. The Food and Drug Administration’s News Release (FDA) reports this year’s vaccine contains three influenza strains, one of which is the H1N1.
